Is Zapier HIPAA Compliant?
No – on its own, Zapier is not HIPAA Compliant since it does not provide a BAA to its users. However, with HIPAAtizer, the answer is “Yes”. You can automate your workflows by pulling non-PHI data from HIPAAtizer into another platform using Zapier. You can also anonymize your PHI data through HIPAAtizer to use it in another platform.

Find the HIPAAtizer app in Zapier and Build Your Zap
Link your HIPAAtizer account to Zapier using a secure API link. You’ll find the HIPAAtizer Zapier app in the Zapier interface.
The HIPAAtizer Zapier app supports a New Form Submission trigger that can fire when any form in your account receives a new submission. This trigger allows you to pull submission metadata and, optionally, specific form field values into your Zap.
Important: Please ensure that you do not include any fields containing Protected Health Information (PHI) when configuring your Zap, to avoid violating HIPAA regulations.
PHI is defined as any combination of personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, phone number) and health-related information. To support safe integrations with non-HIPAA-compliant systems, HIPAAtizer offers a Contact Anonymization feature, which replaces personally identifiable information with randomly generated values. This allows you to remove identifiers from the submission while still passing relevant, non-sensitive data, ensuring the resulting data is no longer considered PHI.
